Opening Outllook 2003 Also Opens Word 2003

Hi!

We use 3rd party subtitling software to subtitle films/television etc. This
software uses word 2000/2002/2003 for spell checking. After updadting this
piece of software to a newer version and running it, MS Word starts up as
well, and if i close Word the spell check feature doesn't work in the
subtitling software.

The strangest thing, and the one that lead me to thinking this is a problem
with Office and not the subtitling software is that if i run Outlook 2003,
then word starts up again. Outlook 2003 uses word for its own spell check, so
there must be a setting, file, registery key that is preventing Word from
starting in a "quiet" mode. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Adrian.

In Outlook, do you have Word selected as the editor under
Tools->Options->Mail Format? It is on by default in 2003.
