opening Powerpoint (Office 2000)

Opening Powerpoint results in VB Runtime Library error, shutting down the
program. I've tried almost everthing...almost. I think it might have
something to do with powerpoint templates crossing platforms...is that
possible?

I would first check your system for any updates via
http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/officeupdate/default.aspx . It sounds like
a conflict with the built in Library. Are you running any VBA programs or
Macro's? Does this happen when you open any powerpoint files? What happens
when you open Powerpoint from it's original directory?

Powerpoint will not open by going to its program directory. I can now view my
presentations via Viewer, but no open them for editing or anything else. It
is very discouraging.
