Opening PP work screen

My PPT program work screen used to open with the first slide taking all the
room. That's what I like. For some reason it now opens with an area on the
left showing the slide numbers with the first slide showing to the right of
it. How do I get it to again open the way I like it?

Click on the X where the slide numbers are, that should put your slide in
full screen. when you save the next time PowerPoint will remember your
settings.

On the left in that area where it shows all your slides numbered and in a
miniture version, which is to the left of the main one you are working
on......if you look right above and to the right of the first little slide in
that left box you should see a little box with an X in it that lets you close
that out.....it's the same button you would use to close any of your
application screens out.....normally it's at the very top right of the page
you are using.....this one will be up on the top right of that area that runs
down the left side of your screen with the numbered slides in them.
Hopefully this helps

NB just closing the outline/thumbs pane depends on the setting in tools >
option>view being "view saved in file"

Changing the setting to the view you want will always work
