opening several excel files in the same program

I am trying to open several diferent excel files in the same dialog box on
the tool bar - I am doing this to eliminate having 2-5 excel boxes on the
toolbar - I have done this easily on older models and I believe there is a
check box for it somewhere. This way I can open and close the files with in
the one single dialog box and not clutter my toolbar.

Not sure why you are asking this Excel question in a Microsoft Word
newsgroup, but the answer is to click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the
"Windows in Taskbar" box | OK.

Tools|Options|View|Windows in Taskbar checkbox should be cleared. And you
should probably ask this type of question in an Excel forum. However, the
same method can be used in Word if Word docs in separate windows are
bothersome.
