I want to open to just one sheet like i used to in ms-office.

Additionally, is there any way the formula toolbar can be "a part of" the excel screen and not just off by itself on top of the screen?

This really isn't clear - you're still in "ms-office" - but I'm assuming
that you mean you want each new workbook you create to have only one
worksheet rather than 3. If so go to Excel> Preferences> General & change
the setting there. The only other thing I can think of is that you're
working in Page Layout View which actually is showing only one sheet but
displays it as the pages that will be generated when you print. If that's
the case use the view button at the lower left corner or the View menu to
switch to Normal View. That default can also be changed in Preferences> View
.. If you mean something other than one of those you'll need to supply a more
accurate description.

No... But then again it never has been a part of the document window in the
Mac version of Excel.
