Org chart wizard customization

J

Jon Damm

Greetings all,

I've been challenged to use the Org Chart Wizard in Visio to generate our
org charts from Active Directory. The system works great, but now they've
asked that we make it format the same way each time with our logo and
document titles when the wizard generates. This should be simple, using a
background page, etc., but I haven't figured out how to do that AND the org
chart wizard. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

Hello Jon,

You can create your own bespoke Org Chart Wizard template file:

1) Start a new Org Chart Wizard

2) Cancel the wizard dialog

3) Add background pages, titles etc.

4) File / Save As a template (.vst) named something like 'My Org Chart Wiz'.
Location - templates folder - (see Tools / Advanced / File paths /
Templates).

That should create a new item under you File / New... menu and similar
toolbar button.

Hope that hlps.

Best regards

John

I am not sure if you were looking for this download, but it may help :

Microsoft Active Directory Topology Diagrammer

The Microsoft Active Directory Topology Diagrammer reads an Active
Directory configuration using ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), and then
automatically generates a Visio diagram of your Active Directory and /or
your Exchange 200x Server topology. The diagramms include domains, sites,
servers, administrative groups, routing groups and connectors and can be
changed manually in Visio if needed.
