Organization chart

I am creating an organization chart in Visio 2000, I read someplace that
when I create the chart and attempt to override the layout, it should give
me a warning message stating that "moving this shape will stop automatic
layout for this shape's superior and of its subordinates." If I move a
shape and did not get this message, what is the problem? Did I by mistake
turn something off?

It's possible that something got turned off. Does the Organization Chart
menu appear when you open a document that contains an Org Chart? If it is
there, you are probably just fine. If not, try one of these steps:

- Go to Tools > Options > Advanced and make sure Automation events are
enabled
- Start a new Org Chart drawing from the template and copy/paste your
drawing into that document
