Simple question - I am trying to create a very simple org chart - 4 levels and maybe 15 positions - obviously I am missing something very basic - thanks

Well you don't even tell us what you did... What didn't work??
In PowerPoint for instance, you have a rather basic tool to create these
charts. If you don't like it, you can look at third party software.
OmniGraffle is quite good at that for instance.

Click the SmartArt Graphics button in the Elements Gallery, then take your
pick. Consult Word Help for more on adding additional shapes/levels to the
starting graphic plus info on the Mactopia site:

They are in the "hierarchy" group.
I don't know why, when I first checked I couldn't find them in Word and
only found them in PowerPoitn...
