Jim and I really enjoyed our visit with you and Dave. On the way home we
discussed going to California and thought it would be nice for you and Dave
go with us. I have an Aunt that would welcome you. She lives in Chula Vista
which is south of San Diego. She owns four houses and she lives in one and
her son lives in one. Her son Allen would show you and Jim around San
Diego. Allen would also fly you in in a plane over the Southern California
area.
Jim would sleep in Allens house and you, Dave, Gayle and I could live with
my Aunt Edy.
Call "207-990-7700" and ask for extension 7612 for "Space A" availibity.
You and Dave could fly on Military Airplanes to and from California.
Because Maine does not have a large Military Base you may have to go to
another Air base in order to get a California flight.
The Bangor Air Naqtional Guard may carry you to a bigger base. At the
extension above you can ask them if they ever have a flight to Southern
California. Then you ask if they have any flights to Dover Delaware. Since
they are reserves, they may want to carry you and Dave to California. They
all are require to get "Flight time" in order to get "flight pay".
Gayle and I have talked to some military pilots to take us on some flights.
Never think you can't ask and all you have to do is be pleasant and you sure
know how to do that.
You could go to Dover AFB in Deleware. Call 302-677-3000 then ask for
extension "4088" this will be the flight terminal. Ask them if they have
any "Spase-A" flights to Southern California. Dover is a large Flight
supply Base. And they carry hundreds of "Space-A" people. They have the new
C-40 Aircraft C-5, C-141 aircraft and you ride in them. Dover has flights
to about everywhere.
Please call all of the phone numbers I have given you and ask questions.
This could be an exciting trip for you and Dave.
