Out of office assistant messages appear???

Hello:

On several occasions all of a sudden an out of office assistant message will
appear as I sent a message to that person but I didn't. My first guess on
this is that it is spam but I am puzzled why it looks like an "Out of office
assistant" reply.

Does anyone have any ideas?
