Out of Office Assistant

The directions below are Microsoft's ONLY knowledge base
article on how to get the Out of Office Assistant running
when it fails, using regedit. Note the instructions: Right-
click the Resiliency subkey (if it exists), and then click
Rename.

WHAT IF IT DOESN'T EXIST? Any help out there, since the
idiots who wrote this want to charge for info on fixing
their faulty crap?

Quit Outlook if it is running.
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
Click the Processes tab, and then verify that Outlook.exe
does not appear in the list of processes.
Quit Task Manager.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and
then click OK.WARNING: If you use Registry Editor
incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result
from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry
Editor at your own risk.

Locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook

Right-click the Resiliency subkey (if it exists), and then
click Rename.
Type Resiliency.old, and then press ENTER.
Quit Registry Editor.
Start Outlook, and then click Out of Office Assistant on
the Tools menu
