Outbox problem

I have a message in my out box that seems to be stuck.
When I first sent it I got an error message "file to
large", but I can't delete it and every time I open
Outlook it trys to send and sync and locks up everything.
Anyone have a suggestion?

A friend of mine called earlier to night and complained about the same
problem, of which he has been struggling with for a while.
He is running WinXP Home Norwegian
Outlook 2002
Dial Up connection through an ISDN outlet in the wall.
