Outlined Text in WordArt

When inserting WordArt in a Word doc, how do I get the text in the wordart to
not be outlined? The only text formatting options for the wordart text are
font, font size, bold, or italic. What am I missing?

When you click on the WordArt object, you should get the WordArt toolbar. On
the toolbar, click on the Format WordArt button, which will open the dialog
of the same name. On the Colors and Lines tab, you change change the line to
the same color as the fill or to No Line.
