outlook 2000 and auto complete

I can not get auto complete to work when I am typing addresses. I have checked and it is setup as instructed. (tools/options/preferences/email/advanced email options/automatic name checking) with a check in the box next to automatic name checking.
An ideas? It can be a real pain to always having to complete an address.

Automatic name checking is not autocompletion. It's autoresolution.
Outlook 2000 has no autocompletion function.
