Outlook 2000 Freezes with kernel32.dll Error Message

Win 98 SE
MS Office 2000
Norton Internet Security 2004

Whenever I reply to an e-mail, or open my calendar, Outlook freezes with a
"closing" window describing a kernal32.dll error. When I hit the close
button in the error window, Outlook closes.

This happens after I hit the reply button or open calendar, after about 5
minutes. If I get the reply written quickly, everything works fine.

Any suggestions?
