I'm experiencing a problem where my Outlook 2000 hangs (stops
responding). The times it does this are not consistent. Initially,
the problem occured when manipulating records in my calendar (adding,
copying, deleting). I searched Microsoft's website and followed some
of their recommendations which include:
1. Removing outcmd.dat, frmcache.dat, and extend.dat.
2. Un-installing Outlook and re-installing.
3. Running scanpst.exe to try and fix any pst files.
4. Starting in safe mode.
Nothing worked. The last thing I tried was starting in safe mode. It
worked for a few minutes...I went to an Internet page to do some other
work and tried to come back to an email I was composing and it just
would not respond. When I opened task manager, it would just say "not
responding". I am getting no error messages of any kind. I have run
a full virus scan on my machine to no avail. I do typically have a
firewall running (ZoneAlarm) but turning that off does not help. I
have not installed any new software lately.
I'm at a loss...any help is appreciated.
Thanks - Dave
