I am trying to set up the rules wizard in Outlook 2000.
A third part program uses the default mail client
to "sendmail" to itself. (this part works as the e-mail
appears in both the outlook sent mail folder and the
outlook inbox).
I then want to use Outlook to forward that message to 6
other e-mail addresses. I have created 6 rules to do
this. Each rule is identical except for the different e-
mail addresses.
The rule is:
"Apply this rule after the message arrives
redirect it to "mikecell"
and move a copy to the "mikecell" folder"
NOTE:"mikecell" is an SMTP (internet style) address in the
PAB for the current profile, and a FOLDER named "mikecell"
exists in the Mailbox.
Two of the destination mail addresses are in the GAL
(Exchange server addresses).
The outlook installation is the "Corporate or workgroup"
installation. It is configured to use MS Exchange server.
I also tried with "Forward" instead of "redirect", with
the same results.
Recept of an e-mail in the inbox activates the rule which
seems to only do the following:
Copies the message to each of the folders as requested.
(unless there is already one in the folder, then only one
gets copied).
The message is received in the inbox of the two GAL
accounts. none of the other intended recipients receive
the message.
Have I misconfigured something? I read several KB
articles that sound somewhat related, but none that
address this specific issue.
I look forward to your help,
Mike
