Outlook 2000 slow to start

T

Tim Taylor

Ever since my upgrade to Windows XP over a year ago,
Outlook has taken between 45 - 60 seconds to start after
I reboot the computer. I had no idea why it was so slow.
I did notice that after it started once, I could close it
down and restart it immediately until a new reboot. My
inbox is about 1GB. I usually shutdown Windows while
Outlook is still up. By accident, I shutdown Outlook
before shutting down Windows the other day. I noticed
that when I started Outlook, it came up immediately. I
repeated this several times and the results were the
same. If I let Windows shutdown Outlook, it would take a
long time to start. If I shutdown Outlook before shutting
down Windows, Outlook would startup immediately.

Has anyone else observed this?
