Outlook 2000

I cannot send or receive e-mails because the "check for new mail on...."
field in Mail Options, mail services is blank.

I have entered all the information for the e-mail account correctly but I
can't get Outlook to use it. Also the "send and receive" tab is blank.

Can anyone help please
