Outlook 2002 Detect and repair - no valid sequence

When I run detect and repair Windows Installer puts up a dialog box with the
text: "No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches." Article ID :
913754 describes this problem but the solution recommended doesn't work for
me. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm using Office XP SP3 on Windows XP
Pro.

I have no insight as to how to resolve this. I too have upgraded to IE 7 but
the problem is unchanged. The reason I tried Detect and Repair is I would
like to install Cloudmark's spamnet, which appears to be a really good
spamkiller. It ran for me for several days (long enough for me to decide it
is the best spam solution I've seen), but when I eventually rebooted, the
Cloudmark menu bar would not display in Outlook, and no amount of tech
support from Cloudmark would get it to appear again.
