Outlook 2002 hangs when retrieving email

For some reason Outlook often hangs when retrieving email (I have three POP3
accounts it retrieves from). Restarting the application will correct the
problem (it will download new messages immediately on startup), then after a
while it will hang again when attempting to download messages. I have it
set to automatically retrieve email every 15 minutes.

Does anyone know what might be going on?
