Outlook 2002 & Password not saving in password list.

I have a computer running Windows XP (Professional SP1)
with Outlook 2002 w/ SP3, and no matter what I do to this
particular machine it will not store a saved password.
Everytime send/receive is hit, it asks for the password
even though the password is there and the saved box is
checked. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Any help
would be greatly aprreciated...
