Outlook 2002 POP3 Problem

I just upgraded to Windows XP and Office XP. I set up Outlook XP to be
identical to Outlook 2000 using POP 3 to download files. Outlook 2000 has
been working with no problems. With Outlook XP, when sending / receiving
emails it gets to about 7% done and freezes (Need to do the CTRL+ALT+DEL to
kill it). I've tried it multiple times and the same result. I usually
receive around 100 - 200 emails a day (with and without attachments).

Any ideas?

It's possible that there is a message on your server that has a very large
attachment and it taking a long time to download. Go to Tools ->
Send/Receive Settings -> Define Send/Receive Groups..., click on Edit...,
and check the box near the bottom of the dialog that says "Download only
item description for items larger than" and set the value to some reasonable
(to you) size. If the problem is indeed a large message on the server,
Outlook will download only a "header" for that item rather than the full
message and you can use Tools -> Send/Receive -> Work With Headers to deal
with the message.
