I am setting up one POP account from an e-mail on a domain hosted by
Earthlink. when I "Test Account Settings" in the e-mail account settings, it
tells me everthing is good,..no errors.

I can send e-mail.

However, when i try to receive, it will start and progress to anywhere from
10% - 20% and freeze. no more progress on receiving.

am i a setting off?
BTW, using dial up conection.

no, that did not work. the "test settings" would not complete. i used the
same settings on a different computer running OL 2003 with a T1 connection.
worked great. could it be an issue with the dial up modem running at 48 KBPS?

It could me the speed of the modem, try logging into your email via web
based if you have access to it and see if there any large attachments
holding things up

i can access the account via the web no problem. there are no large
attachments either. i removed all e-mails in the box, and sent one "test"
from another account and then tried to retrieve it again (settings are
correct, i believe). still does not come in.
