Outlook 2003 and offline storage

It looks as if Outlook 2003 by default sets up offline
storage (.ost) automatically. Is this correct? We have
a few users that have Outlook 2003 and they all seem to
have an .ost file that is synchronizing everytime they
get an e-mail. How is this offline setting turned off?
Maybe it is real basic but I have not found it yet.
Thanks already. tom

It's called Exchange Cached Mode and is similar to Offline use, only You do not have to set up send recieve groups! It uses an .ost file as You have already found out. If You want normal online use (as in Outlook 2000/XP) go to
Tools->E-mail Accounts->View change existing->Change and remove the checkmark in Use Exchange Cached Mode

You can delete the .ost file at any time. If you decide to switch back to Cached Mode, Outlook 2003 will create a new one automatically..

Try using Outlook Profiler for easy central management...
