keep Outlook offline storage after intra-site migration

Hi,

While preparing an intra-organization migration of Exchange 5.5 to
Exchange 2003 we are facing the following problem:

many of our users are using Outlook 2000 on laptops with offline use
enabled. Those users connect to the Exchange servers on slow datalines.

After moving the mailbox to Exchange 2003 the offline storage file on
the laptop is removed and recreated. The content is synchronized with
the mailbox on the Exchange 2003 server. The synchronization can take
many hours because of bandwith and size of the mailboxes.

Is there a way to prevent the synchronization of the offline storage
file? I know Quest Exchange Migration Wizard can modify the .OST file
in such way synchronization is not needed.
Outlook 2003 clients and Microsoft Exchange Migration Wizard in clone
mode does the same.

Thanks for the help.
Marcel
