Outlook 2003 and Word XP

Hello ,

I recently asked this same question in this group an MS rep said no its
not possible

Sorry ,

But this answer kind of upsets me , why should I have to purchase all MS
products to use the interactivity with previous versions. I only purchased
the New outlook to limit the amount of spam recieved. An email client should
have no bearing on the other products.
After installing outlook 2003 my mail merges do not work , there is no
interactivity with office xp. Please Microsoft stop forcing me to buy all
your products this is not fair business. And frankly I can not afford you
as a dependent any longer. But as Microsoft know's they will succeed becuase
I have no choice to buy the other products.

FYI, there are other (better?) solutions to stopping spam than moving
from Outlook XP to 2003 ... You might be better off going back to
Outlook XP to get back the "suite" and inter-operability that you seek;
and at same time find another approach for the Spam issue.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Hi,

You need to have the same verison of Word as that of Outlook to enjoy the
features of Word as the email editor in Outlook .

Hope this helps !!!

The Office suites (all of them, including prior versions) are built to
interoperate based on shared features. When you have a version mismatch,
the interoperability is not there.

Would you rather have error message after error message ("This feature must
be installed to run, please insert the Office 2003 CD1 now") or avoid all of
the headaches by just making it unavailable as an editor if you have
mismatched versions?

How did you dress before grranimals?
