Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5703)
Business Contact Manager (1.00.2002.01)
Windows XP SP-1
For years after installing Outlook I copied the .PST file to a separate
drive which is automatically backed up. The Help text in Outlook always
stated that the default store could not be copied ('You can save, copy, and
move a data file (other than the file used as your default information
store) to another location on your hard disk, to a floppy disk, or to a
share on the network.'), but I never experienced problems (and online Help
suggests 'You can move any Outlook .pst file to any location on your
computer.')
My question is, where are the Business Contact Manager data stored? Is it
in the standard .PST file? I understand the concept of the 'MSDE Database',
but am unclear which physical file holds the data. I'd like to know so that
I can be sure I do not leave any critical files on the C drive (which I
don't back up as it contains no data).
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
