Outlook 2003 can not connect to POP3 any longer

Mike Dunn

Over this past weekend Outlook 2003 lost it's ability to connect to a POP3
server that I have had a working connection with for the past 2 years. I
could not find any info in relation to this months security updates that
relate to this issue. I have connected to the same POP3 server using a
different workstation on the smae network without issue. All 3 client users
on the workstation are affected.
In addition Outlook Express gives the cannot find msoe.dll error when trying
to open. I suspect, but am ot sure that these 2 issues are related. I have
recreated the client connections, uninstalled and reinstalled office and
dowloaded every patch and fix available.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you think you have isolated the probelm at the client end, then try
downloading a free mail client like Thunderbird www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/
and see if you can connect with that.

If you can then great, it's a problem with your mail client, you can try and
reinstall, or just continue to use Thunderbird. If that doesn't fix it,
hmmm, dunno.
