Outlook 2003 crashes when accessing contacts

I'm using Office 2003 on XP sp 2. Outlook will often crash after I save a
new contact. I keep getting "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." message.
I've tried to run the reinstall and repair using the Office 2003 disk that
came with my laptop, but it too crashes. This is the only application I have
any problems with. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
