Patrick Schmid [MVP] shared these words of wisdom:
Funny, you did give the list and sent me the whole thing as email as
well...;)

Well, I had just wanted to make a few short remarks ;-)
But as you know I'm always having difficulties in being short
[grin, siiiigh] and the list was not complete at all ;-)
And that I sent it by mail too was based on the fact that it is really
important issue for me.

The problem remains. It was not an issue of the OL Beta. And things
are getting more serious day by day.

I remove the "Newshound". It is not really workable for me. Simply too
much missing neede for being productive.
And it's producing problems with encoding etc. which will cause
problems in German NG where people care on the format of postings.

So I got stuck with OE as far as the News part is concerned.
And although trying hard with mail in Outlook, it's not really
workable for me too. So I'm still using OE in 90% of the cases. And I
really want to stay with it.
But I can hardly work without having the current address data
available.
So it reamins a very serious obstacle that I cannot use the Outlook
data in OE anymore.

Therefore:
Would you see any possibilty to have this problems "escalated" and
brought to the attention oto the responsable powers?
I do not think that it could be too difficult to create some patch or
so which might re-enable the channels for the communications between
OE and the PST-data. It worked perfectly well in OL 2003 and the
*file-format* of the PST was not changed.

Another workaround would be if there was a tool for synchronizing the
"contacts" in the PST and the Windows Addressbook (WAB). But I did not
yet come across anything in so far.

TIA
Rainald
