Outlook 2003 demo back to Outlook XP

Hi,
I downloaded the Office 2003 demo and like it.
But I can't afford it at this time.
I need to go back to Office XP.
I have backed up my mail, contacts etc.
Will Outlook XP be able to import the Office 2003
demo files back into Outlook 2003 without any problem
or is there something special I need to do.
I hope I can read the Demo 2003 files because I have to go back to
Office XP for right now and I have to have my mail and contacts etc.
Thanks
Pete Carr

No. Not unless you created an Outlook 2002 compatible PST file when you
configured Outlook 2003. If not (or if you're not sure), do the following.

1. In Outlook 2003, choose File, New, Outlook Data File.
2. Make sure you select the Outlook 97-2002 compatible format.
3. Name your PST file and make sure you know where on your hard drive it is.
4. Copy all of your information from your Outlook 203 PST file to your newly
created PST file. You can drag and drop entire folders from one PST file to
the other.

Now when you go back to Outlook 2002 (XP), you will be able to open the PST
you created in Steps 1-3 and use that.

Thank you Patricia.
Will I need to do the same for the other office 2003
programs so Office 2002 XP can read its files also.
Like Word, Excel etc etc.
Thanks a million......

The latter. Create a new PST in the old format (File>New>Outlook Data
File>Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (.pst)). Then move all your
items from the OL 2003-format PST to it. You'll then be able to open that
PST in Outlook 2002.

I believe the formats are compatible.
