Big problems with Outlook 2003 - need Help and would appreciate som
advice.

Today after receiving a huge email (3.5Mb) from my parents I came in t
discover that Outlook had frozen the CPU was going nuts and I couldn'
reboot the laptop without taking out the battery!!

Once I rebooted and tried to get back into Outlook - it did the sam
thing - froze the computer totally! Meaning I had to remove the batte
y again.

Went looking for my Office 2003 disks (couldn't find em as we have jus
moved ) so I installed Outlook 2000 to see if I could retrieve th
emails - of course I couldn't.

What this has done is meant when I open 2003 I now get a messag
"fldpub.ecf could not be installed" - when I OK through that it tell
me I should update and create a new profile. When I go in to the Mai
area of the Control panel I can't open it - not enough system
resources! Bizarre.

Can someone please help!! Lesson learnt - never download video file
from Parents new to email!!

Did you try running scanpst on your personal file? You can also run Detect
and Repair from the Control Panel, Add/remove, MS Office, Outlook. Last
resort & probably your only way out now--uninstall Outlook 2003 and
reinstall. You made a big mistake by trying to install OL 2k. It most likely
corrupted your Office 2003 installation. Get rid of it pronto and find your
2003 disk.
PS Next time you can limit the size of downloaded messages in Tools, Send
Receive settings, define send-receive groups, edit the acct settings.
