The .NK2 file is a hidden file. In your Search window select 'Search hidden
files and folders' under more advanced options.

I'm having the same problem, I found the .nk2 file and renamed it to .bak as
instructed, Outlook 2003 did not create a new .nk2 file. Further suggestions

Now that I have time for this again... There is no .nk2 file anywhere on my
C: drive. I set my search options to search hidden files and also system
files. Nada.
This is the case on both my work pc and home pc. Any ideas? I'm really
frustrated with this.

I DID find a Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings.NICK but no .NK2 file
What's this one for?

If you are using Outlook 2002 or above, have autocompletion enabled, and
autocompletion is working, then the NK2 must exist. It will be in the
folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook. Open Windows Explorer and enter that
string in the Address field. Click Go. The NK2 file's name will match your
mail profile name.

It's left over from Outlook 2000 and is no longer used.
