This is the first time I've heard of notes opening full screen by default.
It's not a behavior I've ever seen. I was merely responding to your comment
on draggin.

Why did msft decide to open all notes full screen as a default? I cringe
each time I do now that I've upgraded to Office 2003. Hopefully this will
soon be rectified.
Not that this stupid backward step in fuctionality is the whole story, I
do see that they made it now so that a user can delete or print a note while
open by clicking the note's icon in the upper left.
