We have Outlook 2003 and Small Business Server 2003 with Exchange active. We
use an outside ISP for email, and share Outlook calendars, etc. using
Exchange. Every since I moved the Outlook contact file (.pst) to the server
(from my workstation) the email account default setting keeps changing to
show Exchange as the default every time I log onto the server. This
sometimes prevents me from sending emails, but apparently has no effect on
receiving them. However, it does replace the "reply to" address on any sent
emails to show the Exchange (internal) address. Anyone replying to this
Exchange address has their emails rejected.
I think there may be a conflict between Outlook and Exchage, since Exchange
is active and Outlook looks to the Exchage directory for the contact file. I
don't understand why this should automatically change the default setting in
the email account settings, to make Exchange the default when I have set the
ISP as the default. How can the default email account change all by itself?
Has anyone seen such a problem?
Thanks
