Outlook 2003 Rules not running

I have created 3 outlook rules to move mail from 3
seperate pop3 accounts to seperate folders. When mail
arrives it all ends up in my default inbox. The only way
to make the rules run is to do it manually. Any help
would be appreciated.

do they eventually run if you leave outlook open? Rules don't always run
when outlook is first opening...

Anyone?

Do these use except clauses? I am running Outlook Exchange Server with
an Outlook 2000 client and none of my rules would work automatically if
they used except. I had to replace one rule using except with several
taking action based on specific words in the header or from line. Once
I did this they all worked. The docs don't ihndicate this to be the
case but it was for me.
