I may be being a bit thick here but is ther a way you can
configure a rule in Outlook 2k3 to not download messages
off the server and not download them - I'm getting a bit
fed up with Norton pingin up every five seconds cos of
W32/Swen. Any ideas?

thanks

Not a rule but a Send/Receive setting.

Go to Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Setup-> button Send/Receive.... Select your
sen'/receive group and press the Edit button. Here you can set
download/synchronisation options for every account in that group.

Are you using Exchange server? Or do you mean to delete messages from the
server without downloading? In either case, the answer is No.

I would disable Norton's mail scanning - it adds only an early warning (and
is annoying) - you'll be just as protected if you use autoprotect.
