Outlook 2003
We have a user who is having problems printing PDF files to an HP 4000 laser
printer. The history of the problem is that it was taking about 15 minutes
to print a PDF file, so we changed his NIC from auto to 100 full and that
increased the printing speed dramatically, but it still takes 1 - 2 minutes
for the print dialog box to open, and during that time the user is unable to
do anything else. A number of remedies were tried but none of them fixed
the problem and eventually we rebuilt his machine. But he is still having
the problem. He's the only person in the office who has reported this
problem. The problem seems to be limited to printing PDF files from
Outlook--everything else prints normally. We've asked the user to save the
PDF files to his hard drive, open them, and then print to see if that solves
the problem, but we have not heard back on that yet.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?
