Outlook 2003 SP2 signature double-spacing

Recently, my Outlook 2003 SP2 signature started to double-space between
lines. I'm not too sure how this occurred and I don't know where to start to
find the answer. Does anyone know? Other than the signature
double-spacing, Outlook appears to run fine. When I copy/paste a previously
sent email with the normal signature, the pasted signature also becomes
double-spaced.

I also can't take out the extra line between the lines. Gotta be something
simple!
TIA,

Turn on the formatting symbols and take out any hard line breaks (ENTER) --
replace them with soft line breaks (SHIFT+ENTER).

Jocelyn,
I don't have the typical Word Tools>Options selection. For example, under
Format I have Style, Font and Paragraph as selections. Under Tools, I have
SPelling, Research, Check Names and Address Book (among some others). It's
just not the typical Word selection.
When I go from HTML to Plain Text I can take the <CR> and <LineFeeds> out
but I lose the color and formatting which is expected. So going from Plain
Text to HTML yields the proper formatting but no color - again the lack of
colors is expected. It certainly appears that the original signature being
placed on the new email has additional <CR> and/or <LineFeeds>. The actual
signature when I review it is fine. So, it's the placement or moving from
the signature file into the new email. Note: the incorrect spacing doesn't
occur when responding to HTML emails. Hmmm...

Thanks!

Thank you, Jocelyn, we have been having the same problems as Tom! This
idiosyncrasy creates a ton of grief! In our reply, every line of the quote
is double-spaced even though the original was not. This includes the lines
in a body of a paragraph, not just the space between paragraphs (which is
now 4 line returns versus 2). This is in addition to all the other symptoms
that Tom was facing.

Your information regarding a soft-return [Shift-Enter] was a real asset to
us - Thank You. However, isn't there a way that we can change the default
from double-spacing to single-spacing in plain text mode? We can't seem to
find such an option in Plain Text mode.

Thanks,
Richard
