Outlook 2003 startup

I use outlook for contacts only.Operating system is windows XP. When I start
the program most times it gets locked up and doesnt respond and I have to
retry till it works.It also is slow in shutting down

How you have your profile's transports configured, error messages, whether
Outlook ever worked normally for you, steps used to repro the behavior you
see now are a bare minimum.
