outlook 2003 "thank you" response

On an average day, I get 2-3 email replies back from co-workers that simply
say "Thanks" in the body of the message. It would be cool to have a button
when you are reading a message, to give the sender a virtual Thank You
response. Instead of generating a new email, it would create one of those
fading popups, or something else, that tells the sender "hey, this person
wanted to say thanks, but didn't need to send an entire new email for you to
just go in and delete, wasting your time and energy". I think this would be
a very useful feature in a future version of Outlook!

You mean a bit like "net send" but then over the e-mail protocol?
