Outlook 2003 Tray Icon

I am not sure how many people may have asked this previously, but is there
anyway to turn off the Outlook 2003 tray icon that just sits there? I
haven't seen any options inside outlook to do this so I am wondering if this
requires an add-in, registry setting change, etc? Any help is much
appreciated.

You can't remove this icon. If you have Windows XP you can customize your
Notification Area to always hide the Outlook icon.
