Outlook 2007 Beta - missing

B

Belinda

Hi All
I have finally managed to download the office suite 2007 Beta, but I can't
download Outlook 2007 Beta - It is supposed to be in the Office Professional
bundle but it says it is not available when I try to install it. Any Ideas?
BTW I love the new office look - a little confusing at first, but definitely
more pleasing to the eye - great stuff.

Many Thanks

Belinda

Do you have a previous version of MS Outlook installed? I had that same
problem, but fixed it once I uninstalled the previous version.

Thanks Jason - I have 2003 installed. I will do as you did and give it a go.

Hi Belinda,

On the Office 2007 download site the separate Outlook listing is basically for the Business Contact Manager product for Outlook
2007.
Outlook 2007 itself is included in the Office 2007 Professional Edition download.

Is Outlook 2007 beta an upgrade to Outlook from Office XP or is it a
whole new version?
I had Office XP installed already then I installed Office 2007 and
everything seemed to work but when I uninstalled Office XP Outlook 2007
stopped working and gave a lot of errors trying to access my webmail
(IMAP) account.
I reinstalled office 2007 and it all worked again.

The new release looks beautiful. The UI is very nice. It's takes a
while to get used to the new look & feel though, especially in Word.
But I like it a lot so far.

One problem is that Word doesn't seem to remember changes to the
options e.g I changed the settings to always save as xml but it always
reverts back to Word Doc (.doc) format.

HI Bob

I can see the link in the custom setup for Outlook 2007(within Office 2007
Professional) but it say not available. Is it maybe worth re-installing the
whole thing again?
I can't uninstall outlook 2003 as it is part of the office suite.

Hi Belinda,

Unlike the other MS Office products you can only use one version of Outlook on a single installation. If you're retaining Outlook
2003 then Outlook 2007 will be greyed out. Note that some functionallity between Outlook and Office does require the versions to
match.
