Outlook 2007 - Can't send or receive emails. Says Join msn?

In the past couple of days, since June 1, I"m getting an error when trying to
send/receive emails while using Outlook 2007.

"reported error (0x800CCCF6): 'The server responded 'Access to Hotmail via
Outlook now requires a subscription. Please sign up at
http://join.msn.com/general/email' ".

What's up with this?

It's exaclty what it says; to connect to Hotmail from within a mail client
you will need a paid subscription to Hotmail. This policy has been in effect
for some years already. If you were able to logon to Hotmail from Outlook
without a paid subscription you were one of the lucky few.
