Outlook 2007 Does not allow SSL RSS feeds

S

Ship ResNet

We've recently syndicated a forum website using RSS. The site runs on https.
The Vista sidebar RSS gadget is able to access the feed without issue, but
the RSS reader in Outlook 2007 cannot connect. We dropped SSL from the
website and then Outlook was able to read the feed. Is this a bug or
intended by design? If intended, why does the sidebar offer SSL support but
Outlook does not?

Thanks!

Two different teams are responsible for RSS. One is the Office team (no SSL) and the other is the Windows team (SSL). Suggest you post a comment directly to Microsoft using the "contact us" link on any of their web sites.
