Outlook 2007

When it starts, it prompts me to download and install Windows Desktop
Search, version 3.0, which I do. It gets to the place it is working in the
registry and it stops with the prompt Access Denied! I've had this problem
also with IE 7 and RSS. There are lines in the registry that apparently
don't give me (even though I am an administrator) permission to change. I
can change the permissions but when I do, IE RSS stops working. Registry
checkers claim these lines are errors and won't delete them.

I uninstalled IE7 and tried again under IE6 and same thing. Reinstalled IE7
and same thing. I wouldn't care so much but Outlook insists on my
installing this thing everytime I start it. Any help or suggestions?

it's a WDS bug and a kb addressing it will be out soon.

Thanks Diane. Is there a way to get Outlook 2007 to stop asking to download
WDS 3.0 until a bug fix is available?

Thanks; I had looked in Options but missed it. I did try the workaround in
the KB article too, but there is no HKCR\.wll\PersistentHandler in my
registry to give permissions too. That may be the problem. Just wait for
MS to release an update. At least it is no longer asking me to install it.

I had only HKCR\.wll\PersistentHandler and I could not find it in the
registry at all either.
