Outlook 98 Archive can restore once?

Hope someone can help!

I did Archive my entire Personal Folder. Then Restored it
successfully. But by mistake did remove most of my re-stored data.
When trying to re-store the orginal Archived Personal Folder for the
2nd time, most of my files are missing. Am I doing something wrong?

I did create a copy of the Archived folder. and then did "Compact"
that file. these show different sizes!
