Outlook Address Book

My contacts are in alphabetical order by last name. I use my contact list as
my Outlook Address Book. Recently, new entries in my contact list show up in
my Outlook Address Book listed by First Name. I go back into Contacts to
confirm that the names are listed alphabetically by last name and they are.
yet, when I open my Outlook Address Book, new names are listed by First Name.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Not so Cheerful Charlie

Chris,

Thank you for your recommendation. I did as you said and the Outlook options
were set to Last Name First Name as I wanted. I then opened my Outlook
Address Book which is set to use my Contact list and I still had many names
filed by first name. I opened the first one I came to and double clicked it
to open contacts. The name was set in contacts and "Display As" Last Name
First Name. I have absolutely no idea why the Outlook Address Book does not
replicate my Contacts order. Any other suggestions?

Cheerful Charlie,
Unless there is a better suggestion from someone, did you set the default
file as order to the way you want you contacts filed? Change both options
then restart Outlook.

Chris,

I got to thinking, if the files are organizing themselves in first name
order, why don't I go in and change the original entry to First name Last
name without a comma in between. I did that and all names have organized on a
Last name First Name order (which is what I want) except for one. It is a
compound name , Smith, Warren & Marilyn. Thanks for your support!

Best personal regards, Chuck
