Outlook and Word 2003

P

Peebs

I have the above running under WinXP home.
I have selected (Tools/Options in Outlook & Tools/Internet Optoins/Progs in IE 6.0.28) that Word acts as my editor.
If I reply to an email in Outlook, the outlook editor comes up. Why?
From time to time, when I Send from the Outlook editor the message goes to OutBox and I cannot send it either from OutBox or from the Outlook editor. Other times it works OK - like after a re-boot. Why?
If, in the Outlook Editor I click on Phone book I get a message saying that it is not accessible. I remember something about a difference between Contacts and Address Book but how do I make the addresses in Contacts appear when I hit the Address Book button?
Why do Microsoft hace to make things so complicated? Surely there is a huge market for a simple version of Outlook/IE/Office just for people with one computer, no network and no need to share anything?
HELP - Any advice will be most appreciated.
PS - Not part of this forum but if anyone has any opinions on the best CD burner package, or can point me to a forum, I would be pleased to hear it.
Many thanks
